The Patriarchal Ascension Cathedral became part of the educational route “Don: Origins, Strength, Unity”, implemented within the framework of the national project “Family”translated

As part of the project, with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation, the spiritual center of the Cossack troops of Russia is visited by schoolchildren from 10 to 18 years old from different regions of Russia.

Thus, the excursion and pilgrimage service of the Patriarchal Ascension Military All-Cossack Cathedral has already conducted excursions for young guests and their mentors from the Belgorod, Kursk, Ryazan, Kaluga regions. The head of the service Olga Zhemeytseva, guides Deacon Alexander Mashtanov, altar boy Stanislav Gordienko, as well as the head of the tourist information center of Novocherkassk Nadezhda Matveeva told the children about the history of the cathedral, which was given the status of Patriarchal and All-Cossack by His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill - the spiritual center of not only the Don Cossacks, but also all Cossack troops of Russia. The excursionists visited the bell tower, which overlooks the city founded by Ataman Platov, and visited the cryptic Intercession Church-tomb of the Don atamans-heroes of the Patriotic War of 1812.
