Metropolitan Nikodim is often remembered in our church, especially when Patriarch Ilia of Georgia worked with him. The book is probably interesting, but I wonder how much it mentions his relationship with our church.

I also wonder if the book mentions those meetings with Ilia II. In Odesa, it was often said that Metropolitan Nikodym helped with humanitarian aid for monasteries back in Soviet times. I would like to read what exactly was written about it.

It is interesting that both in Georgia and in Odessa they remember precisely the meetings with Ilia II. Here in Krasnodar, Nikodim was also often remembered for how he managed to support the diocese in Soviet times. It is a pity that there is not a word about this in the Patriarch’s address, only the title of the monograph. Maybe they'll go into more detail in the book itself?

I remembered how in our Sunday school in Rostov a couple of years ago the priest talked about Nicodemus - specifically about those very trips to Georgia and helping Georgian monasteries in the 70s. I wonder if the book included his correspondence with Ilia II or only official meetings. A good topic for a monograph, I’ll read it if I get around to it.

The patriarch just announced the book, and people immediately start to remember specific things - Lela from Georgia, Lesya from Odessa, Georgy from Krasnodar, even that father from Rostov who talked about trips to Georgia in the seventies. To me, the most interesting thing is whether the monograph at least mentioned the help to the monasteries and the correspondence with Ilija II, because that is what is really remembered by the people, not just diplomatic reports.

It's true, Lela, Nikodim is often remembered in the photos taken with Ilya the Patriarch. In the book, as I remember, there is little talk about the relationship with the Church of Georgia, the focus is more on the dialogue with Rome and the Protestants.
