Blessed Father Theophilus III, Patriarch of Jerusalem, officiated on Monday the vigil service in honor of St. John Jacob of Neamț at the Hozeva Monastery in Palestine. His Beatitude described the saint as "a scion of Romania".

The service was officiated by Patriarch Theophilus III, together with His Eminence Father Aristarchus, Archbishop of Constantine and Secretary General of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, and clerics of the monastic establishment.

"The Lord has done wonderful things in the Pious John through His love, making him wonderful in virtue," said His Beatitude, emphasizing that the work of virtue of the Romanian saint "shows itself in the most obvious way in his holy and good-smelling incorruptible relics, which are before our eyes."
