Patriarch Daniel, at the proclamation of St. Olympia from Fărcașa: The first dignity of the saint is that of a sacrificial mothertranslated

July 4, 2026 · 1 min read

His Beatitude Father Patriarch Daniel sent a message on Saturday at the local proclamation of the canonization of Saint Olimpiada in Fărcașa.

"The first dignity of Saint Olympia from Fărcaşa is that of a sacrificial mother towards the eight children she received from God. Through her life, she made her babies learn, above all, what it means to be a true Christian and to lead a life pleasing to God", emphasized His Beatitude.

Father Patriarch Daniel recalled that Saint Olympia from Fărcaşa was the mother of Saint Pious Petronius from Prodromu.

"All Saint Olympias' attention was focused on caring for the souls of those she had maternal responsibility for. Saint Pious Petronius of Prodromu, her son, testifies that she was a good mother, raising her children with the fear of God."

The message was presented by the patriarchal adviser Mihai Răzvan Clipici, at the solemn moment of the local proclamation of the canonization of Saint Olimpiada, at the Fărcașa Parish in Neamț County.
