Patriarchate of Jerusalem: The Forty-Day Memorial Service for the late Archimandrite Chrysostomos

On Tuesday, 13 October 2026, following the Divine Liturgy celebrated at the Horrendous Golgotha, presided over by Archbishop Demetrios of Lydda, the Holy Sepulchre Brotherhood held the customary Forty-Day Memorial Service for the repose of the soul of the late Archimandrite Chrysostomos, Hegumen of the Holy Monastery of Abba Gerasimos of the Jordan.
Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem presided over the service, concelebrating with Hierarchs, Hieromonks and Hierodeacons of the Holy Sepulchre Brotherhood. Monks, nuns and faithful people also prayed for the repose of his soul.
After the Divine Liturgy, the customary makaria (memorial meal) was served at the Patriarchate, where Patriarch Theophilos once again wished that the memory of the late Archimandrite Chrysostomos might be eternal, saying, “May his memory be eternal!”
