Patriarchate of Jerusalem: Patriarch of Bulgaria’s visit constitutes a practical expression of solidarity

The Patriarchate of Jerusalem expresses its joy over the upcoming visit of Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria and Metropolitan of Sofia to the Holy Land, from September 25 to 30, 2026.

The Patriarch of Bulgaria will visit the Holy City of Jerusalem accompanied by a delegation from the Church of Bulgaria, and a particularly significant moment of the visit will be the concelebration with Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, on September 27, at the All-Holy and Life-Giving Tomb of Christ.

In its announcement, the Patriarchate of Jerusalem emphasizes that Patriarch Theophilos, the Holy and Sacred Synod, and the Brotherhood of the Holy Sepulchre eagerly await welcoming the Patriarch of Bulgaria to the Mother of Churches.

As noted, this fraternal meeting constitutes an important testimony to the historical and spiritual bonds that have united the two Churches for centuries, as well as to the eucharistic communion between the Orthodox Church of Bulgaria and the Church of Jerusalem.
