Patriarch Shio III of Georgia receives Chairman of the Government of Abkhazia

On June 10, 2026, Catholicos-Patriarch Shio III of All Georgia received the Chairman of the Government of Abkhazia, Giorgi Jincharadze, at the Patriarchal Residence in Tbilisi.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed important challenges facing the country, as well as the centuries-old relations between Georgians and Abkhazians. Particular emphasis was placed on their shared cultural and spiritual heritage, which has united the peoples of the region throughout history.
Catholicos-Patriarch Shio III once again underlined the importance of reconciliation, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence. He stressed that love, understanding, and respect for common historical values constitute the foundation upon which a shared future must be built.
The discussion also highlighted the significance of preserving historical ties and fostering dialogue as essential steps toward strengthening unity and promoting stability in the region.
