Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia will visit the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana, on September 12, 2026, on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the completion of the construction of the Holy Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius.
The Diocese of Zagreb-Ljubljana and the Church Community of Ljubljana invite the faithful to take part in the welcome and the services of worship held in honor of the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
The official welcome of the Patriarch will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., at the Holy Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius, where a festive Doxology will be celebrated.
On Sunday, September 13, Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia will preside over the Divine Liturgy at the same church, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The visit takes place in a particularly symbolic year for the Orthodox community of Ljubljana, as nine decades are being completed since the construction of the historic church was finished.
