Patriarch of Serbia consecrated church in Pale, called for unity and love

Patriarch Porfirije of Serbia presided over the consecration of the Church of the Synaxis of the Holy Archangel Gabriel in Pale on Saturday, September 26, 2026, before celebrating the Divine Liturgy in the newly consecrated church.

Metropolitan Chrysostom of Dabar-Bosnia described the occasion as historic, noting that it was the first time a Serbian Patriarch had consecrated a church in Pale.

“This is a day of joy and celebration for us,” he said, thanking Patriarch Porfirije and everyone who contributed to the construction of the church. He also expressed hope that work on its interior iconography would begin soon.

Patriarch Porfirije: Preserve and cultivate unity Addressing the faithful, Patriarch Porfirije expressed his affection for the people of Republika Srpska and emphasized the importance of unity, mutual love and forgiveness.

“Preserve and cultivate unity, however different you may be and however differently you may think about certain issues. Diversity enriches and contributes to the whole, but always remain united. Do not betray one another,” he urged.
