Patriarch of Romania: The mission of the Church is to proclaim the Gospel of Christ

Patriarch Daniel of Romania delivered a message at the opening of the International Symposium on Orthodox Missiology, in which he stressed the Church’s mission in the world.

The academic event is being held on Monday 28 and Tuesday 29 September at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology “Patriarch Justinian” in the capital.

“The missionary dimension is one of the Church’s chief concerns. The Church’s mission is grounded in the words of Christ the Lord to the Apostles: ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature’ (Mark 16:15),” Patriarch Daniel of Romania emphasized.

The Patriarch noted that the most important aspect of the Church’s mission is bound up with the confession and proclamation of the Truth of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The message was read by Archdeacon Eugen Maftei, episcopal counselor in the Education and Youth Activities Sector of the Archdiocese of Bucharest.
