Patriarch of Romania and Greek Finance Minister discussed social cohesion and bilateral ties

Patriarch Daniel of Romania received Greek Finance Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis at the Patriarchal Residence in Bucharest on Saturday.

Greek Ambassador to Romania Evangelia Grammatika also attended the meeting, which focused on relations between Greece and Romania, current challenges and the importance of strengthening social cohesion.

“Romania and Greece are united by very strong ties that have endured for centuries,” Pierrakakis said.

The Greek minister noted that the talks also addressed ways of supporting social cohesion and discussed how “we could do more for our societies and our peoples.”

“I would like to thank His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel very much for the wonderful meeting we had,” Pierrakakis added.

During the meeting, Patriarch Daniel presented the Greek delegation with several books published by the Romanian Patriarchate and authored by him.

Pierrakakis was also presented with the Diploma and Medal of the Commemorative Year of the Pastoral Care of the Christian Family.
