Patriarch of Bulgaria to visit the Holy Land and Jordan

Patriarch Daniel of Bulgaria will pay an official visit to the Patriarchate of Jerusalem from September 25 to 30, 2026, at the invitation of Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem and following a corresponding decision of the Holy Synod of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church.

The Patriarch of Bulgaria will be accompanied by a delegation of the Bulgarian Church, which will include, among others, Metropolitan John of Varna and Veliki Preslav, Metropolitan Seraphim of Nevrokop, Bishop Gerasimos of Melenikon, Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod, Archdeacon Dr. Deyan Korunoski, and Dr. Alexander Smochevski, patriarchal advisor and interpreter.

During his stay in the Holy Land, Patriarch Daniel will hold official meetings and talks, and will also visit and venerate the most important Christian shrines.

A central place in the visit’s program is held by the concelebration of the Patriarchs of Jerusalem, Theophilos, and Bulgaria, Daniel, who will jointly officiate the Divine Liturgy on September 27.
