Patriarch of Alexandria: Visit to Mani holds a special place in my heart

Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa sent a letter of thanks to Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Mani following his return to Egypt from his visit to Mani on September 7–9.

In his letter, Patriarch Theodore expressed his gratitude to Metropolitan Chrysostomos for the welcome and hospitality extended to him, describing the visit as a significant spiritual experience and a great blessing.

He noted that it was the first time Mani had welcomed a Patriarch of the Apostolic Throne of Saint Mark and referred in particular to the warm reception he received in Gytheio, with the participation of clergy, faithful and representatives of local authorities.

A central part of the Patriarch’s visit was the laying of the foundation stone for the new Pilgrimage Church of Saint Nektarios, Bishop of Pentapolis, in Selinitsa, Gytheio.

“With deep emotion, we laid the foundation stone of the new Pilgrimage Church of Saint Nektarios,” Patriarch Theodore said, noting that the event further strengthened the connection between the saint and Mani.
