Interesting to see the Patriarch meeting with General Dimitrios Choupis and Metropolitan George of Guinea there too. Wonder what they talked about, military cooperation in Africa or something more pastoral?

It is interesting that Patriarch Theodore II met exactly with General Dimitrios Hupis. Metropolitan George from Guinea was also there, probably because of African affairs. And what exactly were they talking about, whether it was about the pastoral care of the military, or something more practical - it would be interesting to hear the details.

It is interesting that you mentioned African affairs - Metropolitan George from Guinea was definitely not by chance, they have parishes all over West Africa growing there. It seems to me that the conversation could have been about the guardianship of the military Greeks in the region, and about practical assistance to the missions. And what do you think, does the patriarch often hold such meetings with the military?

It’s great that Metropolitan George of Guinea will be present - they really have paraphals on Western Africa growing rapidly there. Perhaps they were talking about how pastoral support would be given to the Greek military in the region, and about practical assistance to missions. It would be good to know the details, because without them it is important to judge.

Yes, Natalya, Metropolitan George definitely did not come just for company - they have many parishes in Guinea now and you have to keep your finger on the pulse. I think they could have talked about how the Greek military helps with logistics for the missions, because the roads there are bad, and the goods have to be delivered. Do you often follow the news from the Patriarchate of Alexandria?

Yes, Vasyl, you are right about the parishes in Guinea - Metropolitan George really works a lot there, I read that they even opened a school at the church. But I didn't think about the Greek military and logistics, it's interesting. Do you often follow Africa yourself or did you just come across it today?

Yes, Yuliu, Metropolitan George really did a great job with that school in Guinea, I also read that the children there learn literacy and learn about faith. As for the Greek military, it is simply interesting how everything is intertwined between the Church and the state in Africa. Where did you find out about their work?

Yes, Anna, the school in Guinea is really a good thing, the children there learn to read and hear about Christ. And I learned about the meeting with General Chupis from the Greek church website, they wrote briefly there. I wonder if the patriarch often meets with the military, or is it more because of the Greek community in Africa?
