Patriarch John X at Bose Monastery: ‘We ask for your prayers for peace in the East’

Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East arrived at the Bose Monastery in northern Italy on Thursday, September 10, 2026, as part of his visit to Italy and the Holy See.

The Patriarch and his delegation were welcomed by the monastery’s prior, Fr Sabino, members of the monastic community and participants in the patristic conference currently being hosted at Bose, which has brought together Orthodox participants from various Churches.

Following his arrival, Patriarch John presided over Vespers in the monastery church.

Addressing those present, the Patriarch conveyed the love of the Church of Antioch and asked for prayers for peace in the East.

“We bring you the love of the Church of Antioch and ask for your prayers for peace in the East,” Patriarch John said.

He also highlighted the deep relationship between the Antiochian Orthodox Church and the monastic community of Bose.

Patriarch John praised the importance of the conferences organized by the monastery over the years, emphasizing their contribution to building bridges of communication and encounter between Eastern and Western Christianity.
