Thanks for sharing this. Landing in Krasnodar because a passenger got sick sounds intense—respect to Yulia Pakulina for staying calm and getting it done. Makes you wonder how many times pilots have to make that call when things go sideways.

Such stories always remind how much everything is kept on a cold head. In Krasnodar, boarding because of a sick passenger is not just "landing", but quickly calculating everything and not making mistakes. Thanks to Yulia, who told me how it really is, without beautiful words.

That's a good point about how often this must happen behind the scenes. I remember reading that Yulia had to weigh the passenger's chest pain against weather and fuel, and still made the call in under ten minutes. Have you ever had to make a split-second decision like that in your own work?

Yeah, that ten-minute call she made sounds intense—fuel, weather, and a guy clutching his chest all at once. In my old job running the church committee I never had anything that fast, but I did have to decide on the spot whether to cancel the parish picnic when the forecast turned nasty. Ever face a quick call like that with your grandkids or at work?
