The "St. Andrew the Apostle" parish in Ladispoli, Italy, has launched an invitation to participate in the auction for the first lot of works of the future socio-cultural community center intended for Romanians in the locality.

The future community center is designed as a space intended for meetings, educational and cultural activities, as well as social projects addressed to Romanians from Ladispoli and its surroundings.

The project benefits from funding from the Department for Romanians Everywhere, an institution that supports initiatives dedicated to preserving and promoting the spiritual, cultural and identity values of Romanian communities outside the country's borders.

According to the announcement published by the Diocese of Italy, the tender is aimed at the execution of the first batch of works, while the subsequent stages of the construction will be the subject of separate procedures. The deadline for submitting offers is September 8, 2026, midnight.

The Romanian Orthodox Parish "Saint Andrew the Apostle and the Holy Martyrs from Niculițel" in Ladispoli was officially established on July 15, 2001.

The first Holy Liturgy was celebrated on August 15, 2001, in a chapel of the Catholic Church...

Good to see the Department for Romanians Everywhere helping with the funding. The bit about kids learning Romanian and people gathering for feasts instead of just liturgy lines up with what Nikola and Snežana said — our youth group here does similar stuff after Liturgy and it keeps the younger ones connected. That patience since the first Liturgy in 2001 is impressive; hope the tender on 8 September 2026 goes smoothly.

Yeah, that long wait from the first Liturgy in a borrowed Catholic chapel back in 2001 really shows what steady work looks like. Our youth lot here in Manchester do Romanian songs and a bit of football after Sunday service too, helps them actually want to turn up. Do you reckon the new centre will have space for something like that, or is it more classroom focused?
