The parish of Saint Michael the Archangel celebrated 25 years since the consecration of the churchtranslated

On Sunday, October 11, the faithful of the Serbian Orthodox Church of Saint Michael the Archangel gathered with great joy to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the consecration of their holy church. The church was consecrated on August 11, 2001, by the hand of the blessed Metropolitan Hristoforos. The celebration was moved to October so that our former parish priest, archpriest Miloš Vesin, could join us from Novi Sad.
His Eminence Bishop Seraphim presided over the Holy Liturgy. His Eminence was assisted by archpriest Miloš Vesin, who served our parish for 33 years, our parish priest, archpriest Aleksandar Savić, and deacon Miloš Božić. In addition to our altar assistants, the faithful from our sister parish in South Bend also served in the altar. The "Sloboda" choir beautifully sang the liturgical responses, and the church was filled with faithful people from our parish and neighboring communities, including South Bend, Schererville, South Chicago, East Chicago and the Macedonian Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul.
In his inspired sermon, Bishop Seraphim referred to the Gospel reading of that day and connected its message with our celebration. He reminded the faithful that the consecrated church is truly the house of God and the gate of heaven, and that the Church is alive...
