Father Constantin Galeriu passed to eternal life 23 years ago. He was one of the most famous Romanian clergymen and preachers of the 20th century, being nicknamed the "Fire Preacher".

He was born on November 21, 1918, in the village of Răcătău-Răzeși, Bacău county, being the fifth child of Neculai and Elisabeta Galeri.

He attended the "Saint George" Theological Seminary in Roman, then the Faculty of Theology in Bucharest, which he graduated in 1942.

He was a singer at the Zlatari Church, where he also received ordination as a priest. In the same period, he worked as the editorial secretary of the publication "Orthodoxia", led by Fr. Toma Chiricuță. In 1943 he married Argentina-Cristina Vărgatu, with whom he had four sons: Narcis, Rodion, Ciprian and Serafim.

Between the years 1943-1947 he served at Podul Văleni, Prahova county, and between 1947 and 1973 he was a priest at the "Saint Vasile" Church in Ploiești. From 1973 until the end of his life, his pastoral activity was linked to the "Sfântul Silvestru" Church in the Capital, where he served for almost three decades.
