The Metropolitan Chapel in Chisinau celebrated its patron on Friday, the Holy Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian, according to the unrevised calendar.

The Holy Liturgy was officiated by Metropolitan Antonie of Bessarabia and Vicar Bishop Nectarie de Bogdania of the Archdiocese of Chisinau.

Starting from the example of Saint John the Theologian, the metropolitan emphasized the importance of the commandment of love: "Love brings us closer to God and to our fellow men."

"This message of love is very important because that's exactly what people lack. The fulfillment of love is a form of coexistence in peace, quiet and coexistence as the Good God expects us, as he wants from us," said His Eminence.

The love and suffering of the other The Reverend Father Nectarie de Bogdania showed how love works in the world, recalling the Savior's passions: "Christ shows us that true love does not close itself in its own suffering."

"He doesn't only think about His pain, but he also thinks about the pain of the Mother of God and entrusts it to St. John the Evangelist. What a great and special lesson for us. When we have a problem, we often don't see the troubles anymore...
