“Memory scorched by fire”: a lithium for the burned residents of the village of Lesniki was performed in the Church of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearerstranslated

August 6 is the day when history ceased to be lines in a textbook and became a living memory. In the evening, the participants of the cleanup gathered in the Church of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers to pray for the residents of the village of Lesniki, which was burned in 1942.

The funeral litany at 20:00 became the culmination of the evening: generations, destinies and names united in prayer for the dead, which are important not to forget. And the meeting with Natalya Mikhailovna Volynets, senior researcher at the Lida Historical and Art Museum, reminded me: preserving memory is also a service. The theme “Memory, scorched by fire” was revealed in detail, in archival touches and in how carefully we should treat every page of the past. The parish thanks everyone who took the time to come, light a candle and say: “We remember.” Let this memory be not only in our hearts, but also in our deeds - in stories to children, in caring for history, in prayer.

The meeting ended with a memorial tea party in memory of our fallen compatriots.
