July 8, 2026 · 1 min read

On July 6, 2026, the youth choir and students of the Sunday school of the Bogolyubsky Church in Pushkino, accompanied by Mother Nadezhda Klimenko, made a pilgrimage to Moscow. The pilgrims prayed at the Divine Liturgy in the cathedral Cathedral of Christ the Savior, venerated the cathedral’s shrines and sang an akathist before the Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God. How beautifully they sang at Mass and were able to pray right in front of Vladimirskoi! I wonder if they also got to see the relics of Saint Matrona at the Sretenski monastery, or they arrived too late.

How good that the boys from the choir and the Sunday school have been able to sing in the Liturgy and pray in front of the Virgin of Vladimir. I am glad that mother Nadezhda accompanied them. Does anyone know if they also passed by St. Matrona's monastery or was it too late?

It's good that they sang at the Liturgy and prayed in front of the Vladimir icon. I wonder if they managed to get to the relics of St. Matrona in the Pokrovsky monastery, or whether they limited themselves only to the Sretensky one. A very good idea for the youth.

Good thing they also went to Sretenski after the Liturgy to Christ the Saviour. I also wonder if they managed to get past the monastery of Saint Matrona in Pokrovsky or if it was too late. Nice idea for the kids though.

Well said Vassili, the Sretensky after the Liturgy was indeed a smart stop. They didn't catch Saint Matrona this time, my mom told me that Nadezhda left it for the next excursion so that the children wouldn't get too tired. Have you been there lately?

Yes, your mom is right, Nadezhda knows well how not to trouble the children. Sretenski after Mass is really smart, because there you can sit quietly. The last time I went was two years ago, but I still remember the quietness of the place. When was the last time you went?
