Submission of works for the children's and youth literary competition "Summer of the Lord" is opentranslated

On September 1, 2026, the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church began accepting works for participation in the XIII season of the International Children's and Youth Literary Competition named after I.S. Shmelev "The Summer of the Lord".

The competition is held with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' by the Publishing Council. The competition is designed to promote the formation of a sustainable interest in the study of Russian literature, history, Russian language and the foundations of Orthodox culture.

The goals of the competition are: development of the creative potential of the younger generation based on the spiritual tradition of national culture; development of a reading culture and interest in Russian literature; popularization of the creativity of writers who follow the spiritual tradition of national culture; promoting the formation of creative skills in young writers aimed at preserving and developing the best traditions of Russian literature.

Creative works will be accepted until December 10th. Participants in the competition are divided into three age groups: 6-7 grades, 8-9 grades, 10-11 grades. Participants in the competition can be pupils (students) of educational institutions of secondary (full) general and secondary vocational…
