The dome and cross for the church under construction in the My Russia ethnopark near Sochi have been consecratedtranslated

On October 24, 2026, the consecration of the cross and dome for the church under construction in honor of the Nativity of Christ took place in the interactive ethnopark “My Russia” of the Rosa Khutor resort in the Adler district of Sochi.

In the co-service of the clergy, the dome with the cross was consecrated by Bishop German of Sochi and Tuapse, reports the website of the Sochi diocese.

– We consider this a wonderful place from the point of view of tourism, when many people gather here, especially in winter. The holiday of the Nativity of Christ falls during this period. Compatriots from different regions of Russia and local residents come here to spend New Year and Christmas weekends with their families. Of course, a church is simply necessary here,” Bishop Herman said after the consecration.

The archpastor recalled that several years ago a stone was laid at the site of future construction, and in September 2024 the ceremony of foundation of the church was performed.
