Oshmyany pilgrims visited the Smorgon Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lordtranslated

On July 10, the day of the celebration in honor of the Suknevich Icon of the Mother of God, a group of pilgrims from Oshmyany made a prayer trip to the Smorgon Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord.

The pilgrim group included parishioners of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ, including sisters of the sisterhood in honor of the Holy Great Martyr Barbara. The group was led by the rector of the Oshmyany church, Archpriest Georgy Mukha, and the cleric of the church, Priest Sergius Miguel.

For many believers, this day became a time of spiritual renewal: most of the trip participants began the Sacraments of Confession and Communion of the Holy Mysteries of Christ.

At the end of the service, the pilgrims received the blessing of the ruling bishop, Bishop of Lida and Smorgon Porfiry. The atmosphere of the holiday and the gracious presence of the miraculous image of the Most Holy Theotokos filled the hearts of believers with special joy. Even after the completion of the service, they did not want to leave the temple: again and again they approached the locally revered icon, offering their prayers and petitions to the Queen of Heaven.

The pilgrimage ended with a prayerful visit to the resting place of the ever-memorable mitred Archpriest Boris Malakhi. Pilgrims prayed at the grave of the deceased...

Максим ВасильевХорошо, что паломники смогли и исповедаться, и причаститься в такой день. Интересно, как чувствовалась чудотворная икона Сукневичская — многие ведь именно к ней и шли. А на могиле отца Бориса, наверное, тихо и по-домашнему помолились, он ведь многих в тех краях знал.
