Вчера слушала вторую часть подкаста "Orthodoxie" — особенно зацепила фраза про восточные образы, которые не просто красивы, а "говорят". В нашем приходе как раз недавно монах-иконописец говорил, что даже при росписи иконостаса на глазах у прихожан он старается не просто передать красоту, а чтобы образ «заговорил» через детали. Как это у вас делается в Париже?

At St. John's in Portland, our iconographer says the same thing—when he was painting the Christ Pantocrator for the nave last spring, he kept stressing that the eyes aren’t just "nice" but meant to meet yours, like a conversation. Makes me wonder if our parish’s new iconostasis will carry that same weight.
