Orthodox Religion to feature in Romania’s 2030 Baccalaureate under new syllabus

Romania’s Ministry of Education and Research has published the syllabus for Orthodox Christian Religion for the 2030 Baccalaureate examination. The document outlines the competencies and content students must prepare for the exam, Edupedu reports.

The syllabus for Orthodox Christianity is structured around competencies aimed both at knowledge and expression of religious identity and at students’ ability to relate Christian values to their personal lives and contemporary society.

One general competency is the “expression of religious identity, at individual and community level, in different contexts of life, and the analysis of forms of religious expression and ways of life in the world’s religions”.

Students will also be expected to demonstrate the ability to make decisions in accordance with Christian values and to contribute to community life.
