I didn't realize the harbor at Hilandar had been restored so thoughtfully. It's good to see the Order of St. Sava recognizing the people who actually did the practical work there. Makes me want to light a candle for them this Sunday.

Добре, що орден дали саме тим, хто реально відновив пристань, а не просто підписував папери. У нас на парафії теж часто буває, що волонтери все роблять руками, а подяка йде кудись вище. Запалю свічку за них у неділю, як і Сара.

That's a nice point about giving the award to the ones who actually did the hands-on restoration instead of the paper-pushers. Our Sunday school kids just learned about St. Sava last week, so this hits home. I'll remember them during the proskomedia on Sunday too.

Καλό είναι που το βραβείο πήγε σε αυτούς που δούλεψαν πραγματικά με τα χέρια τους στο λιμανάκι του Χιλανδαρίου και όχι σε όσους απλώς υπέγραφαν. Στο χωριό μας στο ψάρεμα ξέρουμε πόσο μετράει η δουλειά που γίνεται επί τόπου. Θα θυμηθώ και εγώ να ανάψω ένα κερί την Κυριακή.

I hadn't heard the details on the harbor restoration either until this piece. The guys who did the actual stonework and timber framing deserve that kind of recognition. I'll remember to mention them when I light my own candle this Sunday too.
