“They will pray for the Motherland, for the whole world, for the soldiers, for victory”: Metropolitan Eugene blessed the participants of the St. Simeon’s processiontranslated

The day before, on the day of the Church New Year and the August Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary, more than 50 pilgrims from all over Russia set off at the end of the Divine Liturgy on the journey from the Church of Alexander Nevsky in Alapaevsk to Verkhoturye.
The participants of the religious procession were blessed by Metropolitan Ekaterinburg and Verkhoturye Evgeniy.
“I know for sure that it won’t be easy: rain, wind, mosquitoes, lack of a normal road. But people come to God, and God participates in their lives, solves problems that they themselves could not solve. They will pray for the Motherland, for the whole world, for the soldiers, for victory. And this joy that the crusaders will experience when they arrive at Saint Simeon cannot be compared with any earthly joys,” noted Bishop Eugene.
In 10 days, the crusaders will have to cover more than 190 kilometers along the Staro-Verkhotursky tract through the villages of Rychkovo, Makhnevo and Merkushino. The crusaders will walk the same road that pilgrims walked 100 years ago: and this is a forest, swamps, difficult paths. The prayer procession will arrive in the spiritual capital of the Urals on the feast of the transfer of the relics of St. Simeon of Verkhoturye, celebrated on September 25.
