"The man who knows God begins to see with a new vision", explained Archbishop Varsanufie, on Sunday, in Pârâieni Parish in Vâlcea county.

Starting from the Gospel of the seventh Sunday after Pentecost, His Eminence showed that the healing of the two blind men and the release of the demonized mute do not only represent miracles performed by Christ: "They are signs of the restoration of the entire human nature, darkened by sin and brought back to light by the encounter with God."

His Holiness Father Varsanufie pointed out that the cry of the two blind men expresses a living faith, and the patience with which they followed Christ showed the strength of their trust.

"St. John Chrysostom observes that Christ the Savior did not immediately answer their request, but left them to follow Him, so that the perseverance of their faith would be manifest to all. Therefore, St. John Chrysostom says: They do not delay because they despise prayer, but so that their patience may show the strength of faith."

"Faith must be confessed, because man becomes a partaker of the divine work through his free openness to the work of grace," His Eminence also said.

Nicolae GheorghiuThe faith of the two blind men and the patience with which they followed Christ home remained in my mind. As Saint John Chrysostom also says, he did not answer immediately so that their strength could be seen. I think that we would also do well not to hurry with the requests, but to persevere more.
