“It is very important for everyone to get together - to talk, rejoice, sing, relax and be friends”: the Bishop’s children’s singing choir “Oktoich” celebrated its birthdaytranslated

In September 2026, the Bishop's Children's Singing Chapel "Oktoich" celebrated its 26th birthday. Traditionally, the whole team, at the end of the Divine Liturgy in the Church on the Blood, during which the chapel students also sang, made an autumn trip to nature.

– A good tradition has developed in our chapel: in the fall, with the blessing of the senior priest of the Church on the Blood, Archpriest Maxim, the whole team, together with our parents, goes out into the countryside to celebrate the chapel’s birthday. There is another important reason for such trips - at the beginning of the school year, new choir members join the team. And everyone knows that nothing brings children closer together than common emotions and impressions, common joy and common delight! – said the head of the chapel, Irina Aleksandrovna Kubis. – Outside the usual walls of the choir class, children reveal a new side, become more open, sincere and friendly. And one more thing - in the fall we congratulate our summer birthday people and give them gifts.

Each such trip has a cognitive task, which is the most important element in the upbringing and education of children, aimed at developing their thinking and curiosity, the team notes.
