On September 17, 2026, an important event took place in the life of Orthodox believers in Vietnam – the Russian Orthodox Church Parish in the capital of the country, Hanoi, received an official status.
A solemn ceremony of granting the Russian Orthodox Church Parish official permission for collective religious activities took place at the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Hanoi, reports the website of the Patriarchal Exarchate for Southeast Asia.

It is noted that the permission was granted to "a community of foreign citizens lawfully residing in Vietnam and professing Orthodoxy."
