The Cossack village of Yuzhno-Sakhalinskaya was formedtranslated

A founding meeting was held in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk dedicated to the formation of the village Cossack society “Stanitsa Yuzhno-Sakhalinskaya”, in which the dean of the Yuzhno-Sakhalin city deanery, the chairman of the diocesan department for interaction with the Cossacks, Archpriest Pavel Alekseev, and the rector of the Smolensk Church of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Priest Sergius Samokhin, took part.

Sergei Nikolaevich Cherny was unanimously elected ataman of the new village.

Also during the meeting, various aspects of the formation of Cossack society and the education of the younger generation were discussed.
