A new issue of postage stamps features biosphere reserves in Romania and Kazakhstantranslated

A new issue of postage stamps presents biosphere reserves in Romania and Kazakhstan, as part of a joint project carried out by Romfilatelia and Poșta Română.

The philatelic series was put into circulation on Friday and includes four postage stamps dedicated to representative elements of the biodiversity of the two countries.

The show marks the diplomatic relations between Romania and the Republic of Kazakhstan, established on July 15, 1992, after Romania had recognized the independence of the Kazakh state on December 17, 1991.

The collection is completed by a philatelic block with four lacy stamps, a "first day" envelope and a philatelic folder containing a special product, made in limited edition.

The Rodnei Mountains, on the Romanian stamps The part dedicated to Romania brings attention to the Biosphere Reserve of Mount Rodna, a protected area in the Eastern Carpathians.

Two of the show's brands illustrate species characteristic of this mountainous area. The black goat is represented on the stamp with the face value of 6 lei, while the mountain grouse appears on the 3 lei stamp.
