A new church will be built in Râmnicu Vâlcea: Saint Gavriil the Georgian was welcomed as patrontranslated

The foundation stone for the Goranu Parish church in Râmnicu Vâlcea was consecrated on Saturday. The new place of worship received Saint Gavriil Georgian as its patron, recently entered in the calendar of the Romanian Orthodox Church.

The service was officiated by His Eminence Father Teodor, Metropolitan of Akhaltzike and Tao Klarjeti of the Orthodox Church of Georgia and His Eminence Father Varsanufie, Archbishop of Râmnic.

Metropolitan Teodor expressed his joy to see a shrine dedicated to Saint Gavriil the Georgian erected in Râmnicu Vâlcea, confessing that he personally knew the saint.

Likewise, His Holiness Father Theodore highlighted that the saints are God's gifts to the entire Church, and their common honor brings the faithful closer and makes visible the unity of the Church of Christ the Savior.
