A monastery in Harghita marked 30 years since the foundation stone was laidtranslated

The "Adormirea Maicii Domnului" monastery in Izvoru Mureșului, Harghita county, marked on Saturday three decades since the laying of the foundation stone, on the occasion of the dedication of the monastic settlement to the Assumption of the Mother of God.

On this occasion, three hierarchs took part in the anniversary events: Metropolitan Naum of Ruse (Patriarchy of Bulgaria) and Bishops Andrei of Covasna and Harghita and Galaction of Alexandria and Teleormanu.

The liturgical program began on Friday, on the eve of the celebration, with the celebration of Vespers together with the Litany and the Prochod of the Mother of God at the outer altar of the monastery.

Reverend Father Galaction highlighted the place of the Mother of God in the work of salvation of the human race, showing that her moving to heaven represents a wonderful event of the Church's Tradition.

"These are wonderful things, but all this happened because the Mother of God is the one who represented the entire human race in the work of salvation accomplished by the Most High God by sending His Son into the world, by incarnating the Son of God and by his sacrifice on the Holy Cross," said His Eminence.
