About the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and the Day of National Unity: lesson at school No. 66translated

On November 3, at secondary school No. 66 in the city of Ulyanovsk, the cleric of the church in honor of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Priest Alexy Paplevka, conducted a lesson with students studying “Fundamentals of Orthodox Culture.”

The priest told the schoolchildren about the discovery of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and the historical events of 1612, which formed the basis for the celebration of National Unity Day.

The guys watched the animated film “The Meeting” and then discussed it with the priest.

“Such meetings help children better understand the history of our country, touch spiritual origins and think about important things,” noted teacher Irina Makeeva.
