The new Cardiovascular Surgical Center within the Emergency Institute for Cardiovascular Diseases and Transplantation (IUBCvT) in Târgu Mureș could become functional by mid-November, informs Agerpres.

The building was inaugurated at the end of August. The ceremony was attended by His Holiness Father Irineu, the Archbishop of Alba Iulia, the interim Prime Minister of Romania Ilie Bolojan and the interim Minister of Health Cseke Attila.

University professor Horațiu Suciu, head of the adult and pediatric cardiovascular surgery section of IUBCvT Târgu Mureș, explained that all the necessary equipment has been delivered, and technical reception and safety tests are currently being carried out.

The doctor specified that the actual transition to medical activity in the new building takes time, as each piece of equipment must be checked before being used on patients: "I think that somewhere at the end of October, mid-November we will be ready with all the devices and everything that means a hospital."
