Dimitriados Ignatios: "Christ showed us our future"translated

The Church of Demetrias magnificently celebrated again this year the greatest Despotic feast of the Divine Transfiguration, with the center of the celebration being the historical Feronym Holy Church of Volos. On the eve of the holiday, the Great Solemn Vespers was held, presided over by Rev. Metropolitan Dimitriados Mr. Ignatiou, who was flanked by many Elders and Deacons, in the presence of the Magnesia Parliament Ms. Zetta Makris, representatives of the Military, Port, Police Authorities and the Local Self-Government and a large crowd of believers.

On a specially decorated platform, in the forecourt of the Church, according to tradition, the baking took place and Rev. Pastor preached the Divine Word to us. He emphasized that "the event of the Transfiguration is historical and deeply theological. Christ, being transformed, showed us our future, to be light, like Christ, to be immortal. But, this cannot happen without God. Only with Him can we have the immortal experience of His love, which is, after all, Heaven. To achieve this, one condition is required: obedience to God's will. This is what God the Father asked, during the Transfiguration of the Lord: "He is the one you listen to".

It is interesting that Bishop Ignatius so directly emphasized the words "Listen to yourself". In our parish, we also often talk about it during sermons. And how many people gathered for esperinos, judging by the description, it turned out to be a real holiday.
