Sunday's Gospel Reading of Matthew 11: Matt. 23-35 (8-16-2026) The Lord spoke this parable: The kingdom of heaven was likened to a human king, who wanted to have a word with his servants. And when he had begun his concert, he was offered to him a debtor of myriads of talents. But not having him, he surrenders, his master chose him to take away his wife and children and all that he had, and it is surrendered. When the servant falls, he prays to him, saying: Lord, have mercy on me, and I will return everything to you. But the master of that servant was moved, dismissed him and left the loan to him. And when that servant came out, they found one of his servants, who owed him a hundred dinars; and she took hold of him and choked him, saying: Give me what you owe. Then his servant fell at his feet and begged him, saying: remember me long and I will repay you. But he did not want to, but when he failed, he put him in prison until he paid what was due.
