Emotion in Eleousa Rhodes: The new Archbishop of Canada returned to his rootstranslated

In a joyous atmosphere and with special emotion, Eleousa Rhodes welcomed the new Archbishop of Canada Mr. Apostolos, who after his recent election by the Holy and Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate returned to his birthplace and to the Holy Church of Agios Charalambous, where he took his first ecclesiastical steps. On the evening of Wednesday July 29, 2026, Archbishop Mr. Apostolos held a Vigil in the presence of relatives, friends, local residents and expatriates from the United States and Canada.

After the end of the Vigil, the Archbishop, Mr. Apostolos, in his speech, expressed his warm and heartfelt thanks to His Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch, Mr. Bartholomew, the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Rhodes Mr. Kyrillos, the priests and cantors who brightened up the Holy Vigil with their presence and ministry, as well as to all the pious crowd that flooded the church to prayerfully participate in the Vigil. He made a special mention to the Member of Parliament for the Dodecanese of the New Republic, Mr. Ioannis Papas, to the Mayor of Rhodes, Mr. Alexandros Koliadis, and to his family, who stood by his side with love and emotion.
