Kilkis welcomed the Holy Relic of Saint Gerasimos the Mikrayannanite and Hymnographertranslated

With special spiritual joy and emotion, clergy and people in Kilkis welcomed on the afternoon of Saturday, October 3, 2026, in the Holy Metropolitan Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior, a fragment of the Holy Relic of Saint Gerasimos the Mikrayannanite and Hymnographer. The Holy Relic was consecrated by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Polyanis and Kilkisios, Mr. Bartholomeus, and his arrival is a special blessing for the local Church, offering the faithful the opportunity to worship a precious spiritual treasure and to ask for the embassies and grace of the Holy One who was distinguished for his humility and gifts.

The fragment of the Holy Relic was received with the appropriate honors by the Holy Clergy and the pious people of Kilkis, led by the Deputy Mayor of Kilkis, Mr. Themistocles Kosmides, in a climate of prayer and mourning and it will remain permanently in the Metropolitan Church, where it will be brilliantly celebrated. This year, a Holy Vigil will be held for the feast of his memory, on the evening of December 6, 2026 in the aforementioned Church.

I am glad that the relics will remain permanently in the church. It is wonderful that this year the all-night vigil will be held in the evening of December 6th, I hope that many people from the surrounding area will come. Blessing for Kilkis.
