Installation of the new footbridge of the Tempe Valley connecting to the Pilgrimage of Agia Paraskevitranslated

One of the most critical phases of construction has been successfully completed as the central and largest steel section of the reconstruction of the historic Tempe Valley Footbridge which was destroyed by the deadly floods of Daniel in September 2022 was installed.  A project with a special symbolic and functional importance for the region as the pilgrimage site of Agia Paraskevi is also located there, which was also affected by the floods.

The particularly demanding operation was carried out by specialized crews of "Aktor A.T.E.", which has undertaken the project, with the assistance of powerful lifting machines and cranes, due to the large size and weight of the metal carrier. The new pedestrian bridge will have a total length of 93 meters, will consist of three spans and will have a width of three meters, ensuring greater safety, functionality and comfort for the passage of visitors and pilgrims.

With the completion and installation, the project enters its final phase, during which the construction work of the footbridge deck will follow, as well as the connections to the existing accesses.…
