Porphyry of Serbia: The Lord's love transforms, redeems and healstranslated

The Despotic feast of the Transfiguration of the Savior was celebrated with splendor in the Patriarchate of Serbia on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 (August 6 according to the old calendar). The center of the celebration was the eponymous celebratory Holy Church in the "Pasha's Hill" area in Belgrade where the Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Beatitude the Patriarch of Serbia, Mr. Porphyry co-celebrant of the Theophilist Bishop Yenopolje Mr. Nikonos, flanked by Archpriests Dragisa Jocic, Zoran Rankovic and Dejan Madic, Elders Srdjan Cosic, Branislav Milandinovic and Borian Adic, Archdeacons Dragan Radic and Radomir Vrucinic, as well as Deacons Vasilios Peric and Lazaro Ristic.

After the reading of the Gospel, the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Serbia preached the divine word, analyzing the deeper meaning of the holiday, emphasizing that the Transfiguration of Christ is both a revelation of His divine nature and an invitation to man to be transformed by the grace of God.
