September 8: The Birth of the Virgintranslated

Today, September 8, our Church celebrates the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos. Today is born the glory and the preaching of the Prophets. With her birth, Mariam reverses the curse of barrenness. The former barren land and the former barren Anna miraculously tickles the fruitful land, the child of God and food of our life. The bowels of the Virgin receive the heavenly Bread, our Redeemer and Savior Jesus Christ.
The feast of the Nativity of the Virgin has a special place in the calendar of our Church. If the first woman, Eve, with her disobedience, together with Adam led humanity out of Paradise and into death, the obedience of our Virgin Mary to the will of God, recalled us from slavery and led us to the resurrection of human nature in the Person of Jesus Christ and consequently led to the salvation of all humanity.
The virtuous Joachim and Anna prayed daily to have a child. God heard their prayers and made their request come true: he granted them to give birth to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the woman who was to give birth to the Savior of the world.
Together with the righteous Joachim and Anna, all the faithful rejoice. And…
