The Vicar of Agios Dimitrios fell asleep in Poulakida, Argolistranslated

Fr. Evangelos Mastorikos, the vicar of Agios Dimitrios in Poulakida, Argolis, fell asleep this afternoon. He was ordained Elder by the blessed Metropolitan of Argolis Iakovos II. A modest Clergyman, dedicated to his mission, he ministered with conscientiousness, consistency and prudence, always in obedience to the Church.

He is a particularly beloved clergyman in the local community, who has served in the area for a number of years.

In August 2026, Father Evangelos occupied the local news due to a serious health problem. Specifically, he collapsed – fainted during the Divine Liturgy in front of the faithful.

He was rushed to the hospital and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Hippocrate, in order to undergo coronary angiography and the necessary tests. His condition was immediately stabilized. In fact, from the hospital, he made sure to send a reassuring message to his flock in Poulakida, thanking people for their interest and prayers.
