Saint Chrysostomos Papasarandopoulos – The "Sower" of Africatranslated

With the presence of a large number of believers, from the wider area of Koroni, on the morning of Sunday October 11, 2026, the enthronement ceremony of the Ephesian Icon of Saint Chrysostom (Papasarantopoulos), the Missionary of Africa, took place in the Holy Church of Saint Basil, Vasilitsiou of Messinia, birthplace of the new Saint of our Church.
The enthronement was preceded by the Divine Liturgy, pre-eminent of the Archdiocese of the Holy Metropolis of Messinia, Archim. Filippou Hamargia, who, following the Holy Tradition, anointed the Holy Icon with Agios Myros and established it on its now permanent Throne.
After the end of the Divine Liturgy and the ceremony, Fr. Philippos, after conveying the wishes of Rev. Metropolitan of Messinia, Mr. Chrysostom, referred to the fact of the consecration of the Icon, by Saint Myros, and to the auspicious occasion of the enthronement ceremony of the Icon with the reading of the gospel passage "of the Sower", combining the face and missionary work of Saint Chrysostom in Africa, with the messages of the gospel passage, stressing that Saint Chrysostom, as a good sower sowed the word of God in Africa and this sowing made him a Saint...
