I.S.K.E.: The news that we asked DIS to remove the clerical cassock is falsetranslated

We regret to be informed that untrue and completely unfounded information is being circulated about an alleged letter from the Holy Clergy Association of Greece (ISKE) to the Permanent Holy Synod of the Church of Greece, which supposedly asks the clergy to abandon or remove their priestly cassock.
This information is completely false, non-existent and malicious.
The Holy Association of Clergy of Greece has never drafted, sent or adopted any such position. The priestly cassock is an integral feature of the priestly quality, a sign of ecclesiastical witness and a manifestation of respect for our sacred tradition, which our Association has always served and continues to serve with consistency and responsibility.
Unfortunately, the easy reproduction of non-existent claims without elementary verification of the truth injures church unity, scandalizes the faithful and does injustice to persons and institutions that serve the Church with a sense of responsibility.
We call on those who circulate or reproduce the specific inaccuracies to demonstrate due responsibility, to cross-check the information with the official sources and to avoid spreading claims that...
