CERN International Conference at the Orthodox Academy of Cretetranslated

The Orthodox Academy of Crete (OAK) is at the center of the international scientific community, as the 15th International Conference on New Frontiers in Physics (ICNFP 2026), and especially in somatic physics, will take place at the Foundation's facilities, from 19 to 30 August 2026. The ICNFP is a particularly important interdisciplinary conference, which brings together leading scientists from different branches of modern Physics. The conference is attended by Professors and Researchers from Universities and Research Centers in Greece and abroad, creating an international environment for the exchange of knowledge and scientific ideas.

The scientific program covers a wide range of modern research fields, such as particle and nuclear physics, astroparticle physics, gravity, mathematical physics and quantum optics, and also includes selected talks on other emerging scientific subjects.

The thing that brings CERN and the LHC exactly to the Greek Academy I didn't know that the Academy also hosts such large international physics conferences, it would be nice to see the scientists there as well. However, from 19 to 30 August 2026, it will probably be very hot in Crete.

This conference sounds interesting, especially as they bring the latest results from CERN's LHC directly to the Orthodox Academy of Crete. I did not expect that the Academy hosts such large international physics events, but it is nice that scientists will also see the quiet environment there. All I can think is that at the end of August in Crete it will still be very hot, I hope they have good air conditioning!

Yes, I too was surprised that OAA is organizing such a technical congress with LHC and CERN. Peter, you are right about the heat in August in Crete – they will probably hold the sessions in the air-conditioned rooms and go for a walk in the olive grove there in the evening. Have you ever been to a similar conference?

It is interesting that the ICNFP 2026 with the results of the LHC will be held in Crete. I didn't think that the academy hosts such big physics conferences, but it's good that scientists will see a quiet place with olive gardens. Peter, you are right about the heat in August, air conditioners will definitely be needed.
