Parish in Connecticut celebrates the opening of its Holy Church after 50 yearstranslated

Filled with children were the first three rows of pews at St. George's Cathedral in Norwalk, Connecticut, as they had all gathered to see the Most Reverend Archbishop of America Mr. Elpidophoros arrive at the church. Such a moment has been waiting for everyone, young and old, in the parish for fifty years. The Archbishop arrived at the church on Friday, October 30, for the Vespers of the Inauguration, during which he carried in procession the holy relics of the Holy New Martyrs of Samothrace. In his sermon, he mentioned the following, among others:

"The holy remains of the New Martyrs Michael, George, Manuel, Theodorus and one more George have arrived here from the Country of Samothrace. Is it not a great blessing, then, that two of the five bear the name of the saint to whom your church is dedicated? Three saints named "George" now stand by your side, forming a trinity that evokes and honors the Holy Trinity itself! »
